Q&A with Duncan’s Boston White – Presented by Vincent Vacations

Vype: Who inspires you and why?

Boston: I have many inspirations, especially in my family. I would specifically say both of my Grandads because they not only push me to be the best player I can on the field, but also to be a better man and Christian off the field every single day. I’m so grateful for them and their influence on my life.

Vype: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?

Boston: I’ve had some really good advice because my family is full of some wise people, but there’s one quote that came from one of my football coaches. “It takes what it takes and then it takes a little bit more”. Every time I’m about to step on the field I think about that and it just pushes me to go beyond what I think I can do.

Vype: Who would you give a shout out to or thank that’s been a part of your life?

Boston: Always, all glory to God first, then my family, but there are two other people who I want to thank. Coach Terry, my head coach. He came in after my freshman year and gave me an opportunity to start as a sophomore. I had virtually no real playing time as a freshman, and Coach trusted me right away. He’s allowed me to grow not only as a football player, but also as a man. He’s someone I genuinely look up to. Another one is my best friend and teammate, Jackson Poage. He guided me and showed me the ropes. He works harder than any high schooler I know and he became my best friend off of the field as well. Both of those two have led me to grow both on and off the field.

Vype: What is your all-time favorite meal?

Boston: I’m a huge steak, mashed potatoes, and cornbread guy.

Vype: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

Boston: I’m going straight to the beach and I’m taking my family with me.

Vype: Which professional athlete do you look up to and why?

Boston: I’d have to say Baker Mayfield. I’m a huge Oklahoma Sooners fan and watching him when I was young inspired me. He was a walk on and worked his way up all the way to the NFL. He was also a great representative of the school and someone who plays with unmatched passion to this day.

Vype: What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?

Boston: My favorite part about representing Duncan is putting on that logo and just giving my all for the school and community that has always given to me throughout my lifetime. Of course I’m born and raised here, and I couldn’t be happier representing my school and community as a whole.
