This month’s athlete spotlight in Duncan is Kaylee Foster, a junior tri-sport athlete who loves each sport she plays as much as the last.
“I play volleyball, basketball, and soccer,” Foster said. “I’ve been playing volleyball since sixth grade, basketball since fourth grade, and soccer for six years off and on. There are tons of people in my life who have played an important role, especially my family, friends, coaches and community. I don’t know where I’d be without them cheering me on and helping me stay positive through all the obstacles. All these people have helped me become the person and athlete I am today.”
In addition to the sports, Foster is also active in student council, SADD, FCA, NHS, and JJC. She’s also active in the youth group at Chisholm Trail Church of Christ, and she also plays on traveling basketball and volleyball teams.
“There are many characteristics I believe I have in order to be successful,” she said. “The love of the game, determination to be the best I can be, being able to bond with any type of teammate, and never giving up to name a few. I also believe that it takes a community coming together to bring success to any athlete or sport, because having supportive fans in the stands really affects the way you perform.”
Something that pairs well with supportive family and fans are supportive teachers, and Foster said Duncan High School has more than a few.
“There are so many great teachers at Duncan,” she said. “Throughout the years I have learned something new from each of them. They have helped me a lot, because they really do care about you and how successful you become.”
