Middle linebacker Chago Barham (5-10, 170, Jr.) is the anchor of the defense. Cobble calls Barham, “A true football player who is physical, aggressive and packs a punch.” The Demons operate out of a 3-3 stack with a nickel look in the secondary. Preston Bruehl (5-10, 190, Jr.) and Jackson Poague (5-9, 160, So.) will line up to either side of Barham. Poague is strong enough to take on the run and is better than average in coverage. He could be utilized at either position effectively. Jace Loucks (5-10, 215, Sr.) will play one of the down positions in the three-man front. Bryson Brooksher and Eli Ramirez bring their talents to the secondary. Both can fly and are great defending the pass. Duncan must be ready to go when the season kicks off. The schedule is a murderer’s row right out of the gate with Lawton and a pair of non-district tilts against quality 5A opponents. The district schedule begins with defending district champion Lawton Mac followed by Midwest City’s drop into Class 5A. A win in any of those games should display Duncan’s ability to compete for a playoff spot in a district race that will be highly competitive.
