Addalynn Miglietti, a sophomore at Duncan High School, found her passion for cheerleading early on, starting her journey at Comanche Middle School. Now, she’s a dedicated member of Duncan’s cheer team and is fully committed to spreading school spirit. “I fell in love with being a cheerleader and knew I wanted to continue through my high school years,” Addalynn shared, reflecting on the joy cheer brings her.

Growing up watching her aunts participate in cheerleading and dance, Addalynn’s curiosity quickly turned into admiration and eventually action. “My biggest role models are my grandparents; they display kindness, encouragement, and determination every day,” she said, emphasizing the importance of family in her life. Their influence, paired with her aunts’ inspiration, shaped Addalynn into the driven cheerleader she is today.

For Addalynn, cheerleading at Duncan is more than just routines and competitions; it’s about teamwork and community. “I would describe Duncan Cheer’s team’s chemistry as phenomenal. Our team is just a big cheer family,” she said proudly. This supportive atmosphere is what she credits for their success, noting that the constant encouragement from teammates plays a huge role in motivating everyone on and off the mat.

The community of Duncan also aids in making Friday nights memorable for Addalynn: “Hearing fans chime in even on a call-back cheer means a lot and shows the girls we are doing our jobs as leaders!”

While Addalynn loves the thrill of cheering at games, her biggest challenge was overcoming her shyness as a freshman. “The biggest challenge for me was getting out of my shell and being more confident on the sidelines and at practices,” she admitted. However, through perseverance and her love for cheer, Addalynn grew into her role, embracing confidence in every aspect of her cheer career.

Looking ahead, Addalynn has clear goals for this season. “My hopes are to continue to lead our school in spirit, grow our skills as a team, and perform to our best capabilities at competitions,” she said. Although she’s not sure what the future holds beyond high school, Addalynn plans to go into the beauty industry, where she hopes to make just as big an impact as she does now on the sidelines.
