Duncan mom LeeAnn Millan has been volunteering for the school for the past decade starting with her oldest daughter.

“My favorite thing about being a supporter of our students is motivating them, knowing that I am a positive and encouraging voice that helps them reach their goals,” said LeeAnn.

Over the years LeeAnn’s children have been in a variety of extracurricular activities that she has volunteered for, with her schedule she does not get to volunteer as much as she would like, but when it allows, she always makes volunteering a priority.

“I will be there at the start line, finish line, or even if it is just a hug. As a parent, my natural sentiment is that I do not volunteer enough. I wish I could be there for so much more. While attempting to balance work and family scheduling, if there is an opening and opportunity for me to be there, I will be there for whatever they need,” LeeAnn said.

LeeAnn might not have an official volunteer title, but she holds the title of “Katrina’s Mom” and “The lady that drives the school bus” with pride. Her volunteering might look a little different each time, or as she likes to call it, “organized chaos.”

“My day is usually moving at a pace much faster than I can keep up with, but I thrive on doing it. I love making it work and it gives me great pride when I am able to find the moments to help,” said LeeAnn.

When LeeAnn is not busy volunteering she works full time as a transportation director at Duncan Schools, teaches CDL classes, holds training for school bus drivers in the district and surrounding areas, along with several other titles that get her day started at 3:30AM every morning.

LeeAnn is married to her wonderful husband, and they have a full family with 11 children in all.
