There is an excitement in the air at Duncan High School and the cheer squad under the leadership and guidance of coach Brooke Kephart could be to blame.
The cheer squad is highly motivated and ready for the season to start. The work they have put in this summer is paying off and coach Kephart is excited to what they can accomplish.
“I am so proud of this team and all their hard work. We are competing this year, so we are putting in a lot of dedication and effort,” said coach Kephart.
The decision to compete is exciting for the members of the squad and the opportunity to represent their school in competition means a lot.
Coach Kephart said senior Erin Kirkland, Katie Gravitt, and Crysta Ramirez have been named captains coming into the new school year. Kirkland may be considered the emotional leader of the team and someone who wants to push this team to new heights.
Cheer state is set for September 25th at Union High School in Tulsa and Game Day state is scheduled for November 12-13th.
