By Jayden Oyler
Nathan Channel, a senior at Duncan High School, is leaving a mark on both the football field. As
he enters his final year, his dedication and multifaceted talents continue to shine.
Channel has proven himself both on and off the field. He has achieved a notable milestone that
fills him with pride. “I’m most proud of getting my CNA license,” Channel said.
Through his involvement in football, Channel has learned valuable life lessons. “Football has
taught me how to be tough and how to deal with problems under pressure,” he states. These
skills extend beyond the field, shaping his approach to challenges in all aspects of life.
Channel journey is marked by admiration for his educators, particularly the nursing teachers at
Career Tech. He enthuses, “My favorite teachers would have to be the nursing teachers at vo-
tech; they have been amazing.” Their guidance has played a significant role in shaping his
aspirations.
Inspirations for Channel are close to home, as he attributes his strong sense of responsibility to
his parents. “My mom and dad have inspired me the most by showing me how to be a
responsible adult,” he affirms.
When asked if there is a teammate who has left an impact on him, Channel responded, “It
would have to be Preston Bruhel because he’s helped me the most in the weight room and by
being a good friend.
Looking ahead, he finds motivation in the knowledge that others rely on him. “To know that
people are counting on me and looking up to me,” Channel said, emphasizing the responsibility
he feels as a role model. He draws strength from his faith as well, expressing, “That God
believes in me.”
As Channel enters his final high school year, he is embarking on a new challenge – wrestling.
With his characteristic determination, he is poised to make his mark in this arena too.
In a heartfelt acknowledgment, Channel extends a shout-out to his family, recognizing their
unwavering support. He concludes, “Shout out to all my family because without them, I
wouldn’t be here.”
