When Duncan head coach Dillon Southerland started his fifth season with the Lady Demons having offensive threats was not an issue. What they didn’t know was how much defense was going such a big part of the season.
Hanna Brew and Kaylee Foster are seniors who know how to make plays on offense. Gizzel Carrasco is a defensive specialist and all three are crucial to the success of the team.
To start the season, four of the first five games for the Lady Demons were decided in OT with Duncan going 2-3 in that stretch.
But the Lady Demons would bounce back winning four of the next six games.
Their biggest win came against Altus, a Class 5A team, winning the game 7-0 on the road. They followed that win up with a home win against Lawton MacArthur, 1-0.
As the season inches closer to playoff time, the Lady Demons are focused on finishing the season strong.
