Athletes play their sport for any number of reasons. For some, it is because they are naturally talented and they love the game. Others choose to play because they enjoy building relationships and creating a bond as a team. Paisli Price says that she loves everything about the game but says that there is one season that she would say was her favorite.
“It’s not anything specific but my freshman year would have to be my highlight moment in soccer,” she said. “The memories from that year have stuck with me all throughout high school. We made playoffs that year, so being a part of a team that was able to accomplish that was awesome to experience. The energy, dedication, and chemistry from that team are something I really hope for this season.”
Price attends Duncan High School where she is a defensive-mid on the soccer team. She says that becoming the athlete that she is today is because of all the practice and work she has put in over the years.
“Some of the biggest skills I’ve learned that have helped me be successful in soccer are being dedicated and disciplined,” she said. “Soccer requires a lot physically, so making sure that I’m taking care of body and trying to stay in shape throughout the season is something that will help to be successful.”
Paisli says that she has had different people that have been a part of her life at one point or another that have helped her become the person that she is today. But out of them all, there are a few that made a larger impact on her.
“My older sister, Abbi, would be the biggest influence in my life,” she said. “She was always a super dedicated athlete and played to her best ability no matter what. She was always super encouraging and always pushed everyone to do their best. Another person that had a big impact on me was coach Lard, my English teacher during my sophomore and junior years. She just always made learning fun, I never dreaded going to her class.”
